Yellow Pages Canada confirmed in March 2023 that it had been the target of a cyberattack for which the ransomware and extortion group Black Basta claimed responsibility.
Yellow Pages announced that the company had “reason to believe” that various personal information about some Yellow Pages employees and limited data about business customers was accessed in the breach, including:
- ID documents (passports and driver’s licenses)
- Tax documents (Social Insurance Numbers)
- Sales and purchase agreements
- ‘Accounts Receivable’ – spreadsheet from February 28, 2023
- Budget and debt forecast – dated December 2022
It has been reported that some of the information allegedly accessed by Black Basta was posted online following the breach.
