Igloo Recalls Coolers Following Finger Amputations

Igloo Products Corp. has recalled over one million 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico due to an alleged defect in the product. The recall comes after reports of severe injuries, including fingertip amputations, resulting from the cooler’s tow handle, which can pinch users’ fingers and lead to crushing injuries. So far, 12 injury reports have been filed in the U.S., with no known incidents in Canada or Mexico.

The recalled coolers were sold at major retailers, including Costco, Target, Dick’s, and Amazon, from 2019 to January 2025. These coolers can be identified by the “IGLOO” logo on the side and were manufactured in the U.S. before January 2024. Consumers who purchased these coolers are urged to immediately stop using them and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
