Quaker Granola Bars and Cereals - Salmonella Recall

Slater Vecchio LLP has filed a class action lawsuit in British Columbia seeking to represent persons who have suffered harms and losses from consuming or purchasing Quaker and other products that are subject to Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls because of actual or potential contamination with Salmonella.

On January 11, 2024, The Quaker Oats Company, in conjunction with Recalls Canada, announced the recall of 38 granola bar and granola cereal products, due to the risk that the products have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonellosis is a serious infection caused by Salmonella bacteria. Symptoms include:

• chills
• a fever
• nausea
• diarrhea
• vomiting
• stomach cramps
• a sudden headache

Most symptoms last generally between four and seven days. However, some people may have a more serious illness that requires hospital care and/or may lead to long-lasting health effects or death.
