What are these lawsuits about?

Slater Vecchio has filed class actions in Quebec and British Columbia seeking to represent persons with physical disabilities who have experienced differentiated access to ride-share services because of their physical disability or use of a wheelchair or similar assistive device. A class complaint against Uber and Lyft has been filed in the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and a proposed class action against Uber has been filed in Quebec.

Uber and Lyft provide ride-hailing services throughout Canada. While both Uber and Lyft offer wheelchair-accessible services elsewhere in Canada, neither company provides wheelchair-accessible services throughout British Columbia or Quebec.

Who do these actions represent?

Slater Vecchio seeks to represent individuals living with a physical disability in British Columbia or Quebec who were unable to obtain wheelchair-accessible services from Uber or Lyft in British Columbia or Quebec.

If you have a physical disability and require a wheelchair or similar assistive device for mobility and have faced difficulties using Uber or Lyft’s services in British Columbia or in Quebec, Slater Vecchio would like to hear from you.
