Survivors of sexual violence know how hard it can be to endure the echoes of abuse, to find resilience, hope, and healing in its wake, and even to know where to start looking for support or guidance.

Slater Vecchio wants survivors in BC to be aware that there are programs and resources available to you at no cost to promote survivors’ wellbeing. The BC government, through the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), offers funding and support services to eligible claimants, including funding for counselling services. One of CVAP’s missions is to reduce the financial burden of charting the healing process through the trauma of sexual violence. In some cases, eligible family members and witnesses can also access the benefits.

If you are a survivor, remember that you are not alone and you do not have to suffer in silence.
